Evander Panda by Steiff - 30cm

Steiff

Catalogue number: 007095

In 1919, following post-war shortages of mohair and wool, Steiff began to create animals from alternative materials. Steiff's Teddies for Tomorrow series pays homage to these bears that were inadvertently created from more eco-friendly and sustainable materials. Following in the footsteps of his predecessors in this series, Evander is crafted from a beautifully soft fabric woven bamboo plush fabric. Bamboo is one of the most sustainable plants to grow and has antibacterial and moisture control properties! And of course, a panda's diet comprises of just over 99% bamboo, making this panda extra special! Evander is also filled with stuffing made from recycled PET plastic bottles to cement his place in this trailblazing collection and he proudly wears a distinguished uncoated brass chest tag to declare this.

Evander boasts the distinctive design of a traditional Steiff bear, as well as a modern, ethical and eco-friendly attitude to production. He is also a homage to the first ever recorded sample of a panda made by a toy manufacturer, which was designed by Richard Steiff in 1938.

Limited to only 2020 pieces worldwide, Evander comes with his numbered certificate in a Steiff gift box with its original protective cardboard outer sleeve.
